This church is a part of Central Avenue Methodist Church based in Athens, OH. I am a student at Ohio University and go to church there every Sunday with my friends. Out of all the churches I've been to, Central does the best job at focusing their efforts on building a community with its members. Everyone is so nice and welcoming, and I know they are a church with their aim to build one another up.
The people of Central City genuinely live what they believe, they work hard and they get their hands dirty. The leaders are authentic people and want the church to be there for the community wherever you are in life, no matter where that is. Central City is the real deal for honest connection and family support.

The pastors, Joe and Allyssa, have a huge heart for people who have left christian community because of hurt or doubt. Central City Church is a new church plant coming to the Columbus area. I have had the pleasure of attending Central Avenue Church (affiliated with Central City Church) in Athens, Ohio, for the last 5 years during college. The folks at this church are as genuine as they get. Being part of the Central community has changed my life and fueled my love for Christ and His church. Central truly values serving others, engaging all generations, helping those in need, diversity, generosity, authenticity, and sharing faith and the HOPE of the Gospel. It is a church where you can feel safe wrestling with doubt and uncertainty in your faith. I am constantly drawn back to meet God among the people that embody this church. My mom has always told me that when she would visit and come to church with me, she felt the presence of God at Central in a powerful way.
I encourage anyone who is seeking a church home or simply exploring their faith to visit Central City Church as it grounds itself in Columbus. Pastors Joe and Allyssa Graves are leading Central City Church, trusting God to pave the way and create a place where the lost, hurt, and uncertain members of our communities can come and be where they are without fear of judgment. They are wonderful people who love Jesus and love His people. I can't think of a better couple to lead this church than them! As a member of the Launch Team, I see that God is already doing big things through this new church and all are welcome and encouraged to come witness and be part of His plan and this incredible ministry!
I am a senior citizen and have found Central City Church to be a breath of fresh air. The service is biblically based. The worship is inspiring and relevant to all ages.
